You are working with an architect to develop a floor plan for his proposed resort hotel in Malibu, California. This boutique hotel is located on the Pacific Ocean and each suite has an attached veranda to take in the stunning views. You will be space planning a hotel suite and must plan according to ADA standards.

 

Program-

The One-Bedroom Suite must include:

A.      Living Room

·         Seating for 5 (include a sofa bed)

·         End Table

·         Cocktail Table

·         Media Console

B.      Dining Room

·         Seating for 4

·         Dining table (at least a 42”)

C.     Kitchenette

·         Refrigerator

·         Bar Sink

·         Two Burners

·         Microwave

D.     Bedroom

·         Queen sized bed

·         2 nightstands

·         Dresser

·         6’ Closet

E.      Bathroom

·         Toilet

·         Tub/Shower combo

·         2 sinks

·         ADA compliant grab bars

 

Presentation-

Utilize the program information above and good space planning techniques to create the hotel suite.

·         Use several tracing paper overlays to develop schematic diagrams (3-6 bubble diagrams)

·         Draw floor plan and furniture to scale (1/4”=1’0”)

·         Meet all ADA Standards

·         Include a typed Design Concept Statement

·         Use vellum and Ink to illustrate your final solution

·         Turn in digitally

·         Identify your work with a title block which includes the following:

v  Hotel Suite, Your Name, ID121 Space Planning, Scale, Date
