2)      To find out the factors that mediate the relationship between human resource management practices and employee retention in the public higher learning institutions in the Maldives.

3)      To evaluate the association between human resource management practices and the mediating variables.

1)      There is a significant association between human resource management practices and employee retention.

2)      There is a significant association between human resource management practices and motivation.

3)      There is a significant association between motivation and employee retention.

4)      Motivation mediates the association between human resource management practices and employee retention.

5)      There is a significant association between human resource management practices and job satisfaction.

6)      There is a significant association between job satisfaction and employee retention.

7)      Job satisfaction mediates the association between human resource management practices and employee retention
