Description

5. Final Intervention Paper

In the final intervention paper, you will develop an intervention that addresses a potential social justice issue, research question(s) and associated population. Then identify and describe the relevant principles, values and theoretical frameworks that apply to the research question(s). For example, previous students’ have explored, Sikh Punjabi community leaders who want to identify the contributions first generation immigrant elders might make in their Canadian urban community; community-based food practices that address healthy, sustainability access; an afterschool youth health promotion program for wellbeing; or a prevention program for youth that addresses online sexual abuse.

You will outline your own standpoint in the context of your question and population, then offer a rationale related to two particular modes of intervention (e.g. social, organization, community, small group, individual) that could arise from the results of the community-based action research you are considering. The concrete manifestation of these modes of intervention might include: developing a framework for a program, conducting an assessment for an agency or community program, planning a community development initiative leading to social change or developing a program evaluation.
