Describe the environment of a company recently in the news for making a significant change? What sectors of the environment appear to be the most important at this point in time? To whom? Why? The medical college at a major university brings in three times as many government research dollars as does the rest of the university colleges and departments combined. Medicine appears wealthy and has many professors on full-time research status. Yet, when internal research funds are allocated, the Med school gets a larger share of money, even though it already has substantial external research funds. Why would this happen? Which two metaphors would you use to explain this?
