Date, Time and Duration: 

Midterm quiz #1 will be held, online, on Monday, February 10, 2020. To access the quiz, students should go to the Assignments module on the course home page and click on the link to Quiz #1. The quiz will be two (2) hours in duration and will be available through the quiz link from 8:00 am until 11:59 pm on Monday, February 10. Students can begin the quiz at any time between those hours – but once you begin the quiz it must be completed within two hours.


Coverage: The quiz will be based on all lectures and readings from the course textbook and other readings posted online as assigned from Week 1 through to the end of Week 5. In terms of the textbook, that means the Introduction and chapters 1 and 2.


Format: The quiz will consist of twenty (20) multiple choice questions and two short answer (1- 2 paragraphs) questions. 


The multiple choice questions will concern: Territorial revisions arising from the Treaty of Versailles Wilson’s and Lenin’s visions of a post-WWI international order The interests of Britain, France, and the US at Versailles Germany’s response to the Treaty of Versailles The Kellogg-Briand Pact The Locarno agreements The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk New east European states The US in World War I Military strategy in World War I
