Avoiding Academic Probation Rubric
Students will complete an in-class essay explaining what a student must do to avoid academic
probation.
The student makes clear what she needs to do to avoid academic probation each semester,
namely achieve a GPA appropriate to the semester (the student will make clear what those
GPAs are). Students will also detail the two steps for avoiding College Suspension once on
probation. Students will demonstrate awareness that maintaining financial aid is possible while
on probation. In order to get closer to 100, a student will understand how to avoid Learning
Support probation, but the latter is not necessary for an above-90 grade. This essay will be
very clear and will be largely, though not necessarily completely, free of grammatical errors.
