Write
an essay on the following:
“Discuss the challenges associated with
interprofessional communication amongst the healthcare professionals”
The essay should be 1500 words in length.
We
require you to keep within these word limits, as learning to be succinct is
important. Please note references are
not counted in the word limit.

Objectives of the Assignment
The
essay assignment will enable you to:

Rationale
The
ability to locate, retrieve and interpret information is key skills fundamental
to your professional studies and to your future professional practice. The
assignment will assess your ability to apply the skills of enquiry to a topic
area related to communication.
Skills
of writing also form an essential part of professional practice. The assignment
will help you to express your ideas logically and clearly in an academic
written style. You should make use of literature, cite references correctly and
discuss points in the text. Spelling,
use of English and clarity of expression are all important features that are
assessed in this assignment. The academic writing skills developed through this
essay will be required within other programme work, including written
assignments and your research dissertation.
We
require your essay to be word-processed. This is to encourage you to develop
your keyboard skills to acquire a basic level of competence in word-processing.
This will assist you in presenting other programme work.
A
percentage mark will be awarded based on the standardised marking
criteria. Although the percentage mark
is important, of equal if not greater importance are the written feedback
comments that you will receive. These will identify the main strengths and
weaknesses of your essay. These comments should assist you in identifying areas
in which you need to develop your information retrieval / academic writing
skills. After receiving your mark / written feedback you will have the
opportunity to discuss the written feedback with the marker.
