To begin this discussion assignment, choose a project from the Kickstarter.comwebsite. From the home page, click on Explore. You may choose from Projects We Love, Trending, Nearly Funded or Just Launched, but you must choose a physical product (not a service or an App).
Do some internet surfing for background information about the product and then then answer the questions in your initial post.
Address these questions in your initial post:
- Product: Describe the product you chose in kickestarter.com and why you chose the product.
- Target Market: Describe one clear target market for the product (focus on consumers in the United States).
- Consumer Product Class: Look in the textbook at Exhibit 8–7 (Consumer Product Classes and Marketing Mix Planning). Into which consumer product class from Exhibit 8-7 would you place this product? Why?
- Type of Retailer: Look at Exhibit 12–4 (Types of Retailers and the Nature of Their Offerings). Which type of retailer would you recommend in order to reach the primary target market? Why?
