“Voices of the Holocaust” Research Essay
Due Date: The end of your final ISP work period (Thursday March 5th)
ISP Work Periods: You will have 5 in-class periods, beginning Monday February 24th.
You may begin your work prior to those work periods, and during the ISP period, you should be
working on the project outside of class time.
Introduction
The Holocaust is an event that touched the lives of literally millions of people. When studying
events of such historical magnitude, it is often possible to forget the impact on the individual
lives affected by the events. The purpose of your ISP in this course is to remind ourselves that
the people affected by these events were more than just statistics- but living, breathing, human
beings whose lives were dramatically affected by historical events. The end product of this
process will be a formal research paper of approximately 800-1000 words. (4-5 Pages Double
Spaced)
Topic Selection
You will begin by selecting a broad topic, for example, the experience of the Holocaust in a
specific country, the conditions at a specific concentration/death camp, or the experiences of
children who were hidden during the Holocaust
