Read the following short cases and answer the accompanying questions.

Question 1

Anita works as a senior event management executive at M4EO (Made for Each Other), one of Singapore’s most successful wedding planner. She finds this industry to be very exciting and vibrant. Hence, she has been involved in this business since she graduated from college some seven years ago. Her long-term dream is to be a proud owner of her own entrepreneurial venture offering similar but unique services to several niche markets in the Asian region. She strongly believes that wedding planners and event management firms are here to stay and will remain relevant for years to come. It has changed the management practices traditionally carried out by individuals themselves. Due to its rapid growth, many entrepreneurs are eager to jump into this industry. This development is more evident now due to the popularity of, among others, destination and theme-based weddings.

Based on the case presented here and other relevant reading materials, answer the following questions:

1)    Discuss the various steps that a young entrepreneur should take if he/she wants to embark on a similar type of business venture; (300 words)

2)    Using relevant examples, explain three challenges that business owners face in this industry; (300 words)

3)    If you were to engage a wedding planner, how would you go about choosing the right one? (300 words)

4)    Suggest any unique initiative(s) that can be undertaken by future business owners in this industry. (300 words)
