Introduction
Load
carrying mechanism is widely used in the industry and construction area.
Examples are cranes, ASRS, AGVs, robots and many more. Using mechanism to carry
load is much more efficient and fast compare to the manual way of doing it. By
using the right mechanism it is possible to design an efficient load carrying
system.
Objective
In
this assignment you have to develop a system to carry the load from one point
to another. Develop your design
using all possible mechanisms. Analyse
the system developed by showing all calculations in relation to the mechanisms used in your
system. Based on the calculation done
a detail material selection
of actuators must be done. Your system must be a fully automated system however
this element is not important for the system analysis.
Your
system should consist of three
different types of motion conversions using different mechanical
components such as linear, rotary, reciprocating or intermittent motion. These
motions should be developed using any mechanical component such as power screw,
bearings, pulleys, belts, gears, shaft and etc.
