Interview a U.S. public school teacher, and synthesize his / her views on the use of charter schools and the integration of new technologies into the classroom. Next, examine the main differences between your interview subject’s views on these subjects and your own views. If you fully agree with your subject’s views, provide a rationale for your agreement. Respond to at least one other student. Standardized tests can provide a way for states, districts, teachers and parents to compare and contrast student learning. However, one of the unintended setbacks is that many teachers begin to “teach to the test”. Suggest at least one (1) alternative way to assess student learning which would accurately measure this learning but would also allow for comparisons across students, schools and districts.
