"The Storm" (Links to an external site.) by Kate Chopin
Moving forward, you will no longer respond to Discussion Forums as an individual. Instead you will 'brainstorm' ideas and topics with your peers and together you will create a response to the Discussion Forum topic.
Please refer to the "Working Within Your Group Guidelines" to understand how to work with group members, how you will meet, and determining a system that works best for you guys.
Discussion Prompt:
Consider Setting and Symbolism (literary element).
Using the
Structuralism or Deconstruction theory of literature (Schools of
Criticism and Literary Theory), analyze setting or symbolism or both in
Chopin's work. Your analysis of the literary element(s) must not be
a summary but will be, instead, a description of how these elements
work together to create your reading experience, the meaning of the work
(and yes, there can be multiple meanings). How does the setting fit the
theme and plot? What symbolism do you see? How do they work together?
Go deep, and when you feel that you all have gone as deep as you can, go
deeper.
Post only ONE response for your entire group.
