The objective of this individual assessment is to provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate capability in reviewing the literature and explaining the theoretical and philosophical approaches and the components and steps in contemporary business research.
Identify a business research topic in your field. Write an introduction and explain how this research could
be beneficial for businesses in Hawke’s Bay or Gisborne. Include in-text citations to justify your arguments
Identify THREE academic articles related to your selected business research topic. All of these sources must
be from peer-reviewed, reputable academic journals published within the last ten years. At least one of the
sources must include data from the New Zealand business context. One of the papers must involve
qualitative research methods and primary data and one quantitative research methods and primary data.
Analyse the articles and for each article (maximum of 20 marks per article)
• Explain the research question/s, research method(s), theoretical and/or philosophical approaches and findings.
• Critically evaluate the relevance and limitations of the article within the context of your proposed
research topic.
