PART  1

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this assignment is to enable students to enhance their understanding on ergonomics risk factors in manual  handling tasks and it effects to human health.

REQUIREMENT:

Often  reported by media on the raising numbers of Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSD) cases taken place at workplace causes an injury or disorder to the human body’s . An early detection of the root cause for MSD is therefore very important. By using a proper approach,  not only it improves  workers performance  but  also  saving’s company’s medical expenses and reputation.  As person in charge for this project you are assigning to come out with a plan to investigate the followings and write a report:

a.      Identify TWO activities at your workplace directly related to manual handling tasks;

b.      Determine the  types of risk factors involved and elaborate how do it effects workers health resulting from  each activity; and

c.       Recommend control measures to eliminate or reduce the risk of MSDs due to manual handling tasks.

PART  2

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this assignment is to enable the students to demonstrate their ability to analyse ergonomics hazards for an organisation and design an ergonomics management programme. 

 REQUIREMENTS:

a.      Propose ONE comprehensive programme to manage ergonomics risk in the workplace to improve musculoskeletal health; and

b.      Prepare detail action plan for the propose programme.
