Finding a Scholarship

Your assignment is to use both Internet and MS Word to search the Internet using one or more search engines and locate sites displaying college scholarships. Using MS Word, you will document your findings and communicate what you have found to me.

Cover Page

Your paper is to be stored in one file and have a cover page without headers/footers but with a border of your choosing, a title created in WordArt, a picture relating to college or a scholarship that you have found and downloaded from Internet, and your name in size 16, script font and underlined. Use a hard page break to end this page. Center all objects on this page.

Paper

Your introductory paragraph needs to be indented (both right and left) one inch more than any other paragraph. It should be justified, italicized, bolded, and in size 10 font. The next paragraph should state your various qualifications that could possibly qualify you for a scholarship. This paragraph should contain a first line indent, be single spaced, in serif font style, and in size 12 font. Following that should be a paragraph discussing which web sites you found most helpful and possibly a web site that you found to be a total waste of time. This paragraph will not have a first line indent nor be justified but will be double spaced and in size 12 font. Somewhere within this paragraph you should include a bulleted list of at least three items. Use the same bullets I did in the paragraph below.

Next you will place a table in your document. The column headings of your table will be:

Ø Scholarship Name

Ø Scholarship Web Site

Ø Dollar Amount

Ø Application Date

You will list at least five scholarships. At least five of the scholarships’ names will be hyperlinked to your exhibit attached to the end of your document. Your table should not appear on two pages of your document. Use Sans Serif font style in the table.

After the table, I want you to write one or more paragraphs about the top two scholarships. Which two do you think you most qualify for? Do you plan to actually apply for any of these scholarships? Be truthful. This paragraph should have first line indents and be in two-column format. Place a hard page break following this paragraph.

Center a heading of “EXHIBIT” on the top of the next page. Below that create a series of numbered paragraphs. Each paragraph should be in hanging indent format with the name of the scholarship listed in the table previously as the first words of the paragraph. These names should be the target sites of the hyperlinks in the table. Each paragraph should describe the scholarship fully.
