Carabao Group
Public Company Limited (CBG or Carabao Group) is a Thailand-based holding company primarily
engaged in the manufacture and distribution of energy drinks through its
subsidiaries. Its major brand is “Carabao Dang”, “Carabao”, and “Start Plus.”

1.2 Company Background
Carabao Tawandang Company was established in August 2001 by Mr. Sathien
Setthasit, Mr. Nutchamai Thanombooncharoen, and Mr. Yuenyong Opakul or
nicknamed Aed Carabao (the lead singer of “Carabao” – the
Thailand’s most popular band of all time). The company conducts its major business of
manufacturing and distributing energy drinks under the name “Carabao Dang”. The
name “Carabao Dang” comes from the name of the Thai’s popular band “Carabao”
combined with the name of the Thai’s most famous restaurant “Tawan-Dang” which
is belong to the Mr. Sathien Setthasit. The initial capital at the time of its
corporation was THB 1 million.
With the continual and consistent growth of
the business, the group of shareholders foresaw the need to expand the
strategies for an integrated business model, so the shareholders set up the
company’s subsidiaries ranging from the production and marketing to the
distribution of energy drinks to the consumers’ satisfaction.
The company was registered under the new name
of Carabao Group Company as a limited company in Thailand on 28 August 2013,
and registered its conversion to a public limited company on 8 July 2014.
Carabao Group Public Company Limited are listed in the Stock Exchange of
Thailand on November 21, 2014
In June 2015, Carabao Group became the main
sponsors of English Football League Championship side Reading F.C until 2019.
In November 2015, it become the primary training kit sponsors of English
Premier Leagues club Chelsea F.C. from summer 2016 until summer 2018. In
additional, currently on 4 November 2015, the Group finished a sponsorship
agreement with the Football League to be the main sponsor of the EFL cup until
2020. The EFL cup will be known as the the Carabao Cap in the season.
