Description

Read Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 in the course text to familiarize yourself with the case study format and how to analyze case studies.

Select one of the case studies from either Chapter 5 or Chapter 6 in the course text. After reading the case study, consider the questions that are posed at its conclusion, and read over the points for consideration in Appendix B of the course text that pertain to your selected case study.

Consider the various ethical paradigms discussed by the Shapiro and Stefkovich (2011) excerpts in the Learning Resources and how each relates to your selected case study.

Think about how the “roots” mentioned by Garcia in the Cultural and Linguistic Diversity (Laureate Education, 2015c) media influences the behavior of students.

Use Appendix A, Equity Literacy Case Analysis Worksheet as a guide to craft your Discussion post. Consider the following in relation to your selected case study:

Problem(s)

Various perspectives

Challenges and/or opportunities

Equitable outcomes

Short- and long-term responses

Plan of action

By Day 3 of Week 2

Post an analysis of your selected case study that:

Indicates the case study you selected and explains the problem(s) posed by the case. Support your response with specific references to your selected case study.

Explains the various perspectives, as well as the challenges and opportunities posed by the case study

Evaluates the ethical paradigm(s) explained by Shapiro and Stefkovich (2011). Which is most evident in your case study? Explain your reasoning.

Summarizes the equitable outcomes you imagined, and explain your plan of action that includes both an immediate response(s) and long-term implications

Support your responses with specific references to personal experiences, the Learning Resources, and outside resources following APA form and style.
