Overview:

In Chapters 1-3 of Learning in adulthood: A comprehensive guide (2007), Merriam, Caffarella and Baumgartner develop a three-part framework to describe types of adult learners and the environments in which they learn. In this assignment you will identify why these authors distinguish between formal, nonformal and informal learning environments and what they believe each of these environments offer to learners. In addition, you will select one of these learning environments and give an example of your personal participation in either formal, nonformal or informal learning.
