Contemporary news stories that include a speaker or interviewee. The speaker or interviewee may be a politician, sports figure, celebrity, etc. Both news stories in terms of the speaker’s rhetorical purpose and the speaking occasion (or context), one speaker/interviewee should be communicating successfully in the first news story, and in the second, the other speaker/interviewee isn’t communicating successfully. In other words, the successful speaker/interviewee in terms of his or her rhetorical purpose and context; and explain the unsuccessful speaker/interview also in terms of his or her rhetorical purpose and context.
