1. Design, calculation and analysis Design a CENTRIFUGAL PUMP based on Fluids Mechanics II topics based on your concept and idea. The theory regarding pump can be obtained from Chapter 14 in Fluid Mechanics Fundamentals and App


Each group should clearly show their design and calculations of the centrifugal pump using hand sketching and drawing software such as Solidwork or AutoCAD. In the drawing, the student needs to demonstrate clearly the pump blade angles and its outer diameter. The student may select any type of blade configuration, assume pump efficiency (i.e. overall or hydraulic or volumetric). In calculation, the student needs to show the calculation using the velocity triangle

In the design and calculation, the student may fix one or two parameters (such as H, Power input, RPM, …) and determine the other parameters based on Fluid Mechanics 2 topics. The specification of the design pump should be clearly written in the table base included Head, Input Power, Volume flow rate or any other related parameters.
