95.806 Assignment 1 (20%). Essay: Review and Critical Commentary.
In this assignment you will select one research paper
that describes research you think will be useful in writing your report and you will prepare a review and
critical commentary of the paper. Your task is to write an essay to introduce
your selected paper, to summerize it, and to critically review the paper. The
term critically commentary means that you will examine the paper and evaluate
the ideas from the author. The term “critical” does not mean “find faults” but
to explore the ideas and to write to understand and to put the ideas into prespective
with other writing on thetopic.
Before you begin writing select an academic paper that you can use as a
case study in your final report. Please discuss this selection with your
lecturer. I suggest you follow the marking rubric as an essay map.
